Position Description: Flood Recovery Support Worker

Due to the October 2022 floods across Victoria local community service organisations have been funded to provide recovery support. The Flood Recovery Support Program (the Program) was mobilised in October 2022 to support the recovery of individuals and families, initially with the State-wide services providing this support.
The Program has now moved to offering workers in local place-based services and Mallee Family Care has been successful in providing this integral support to the Mallee communities. This role will provide a single point of contact to assist those affected by the floods in their recovery by providing trauma informed service navigation, information, and advice which will include activities such as referring to sources of support (such as financial counselling, mental health or specialist case management supports where appropriate) and providing assistance with paperwork and accessing financial assistance. This role will actively provide long term recovery support case management and ensure that people have seamless experience in accessing a range of services and support requirements.
This role will sit within the broader Community Services team at Mallee Family Care and will be supported directly by the Manager with day-to-day support and supervision by the allocated Team Leader, depending on the main location of the worker.
