Rainbow Tick Accreditation
The Royal Commission into Family Violence (RCFV) highlighted the lack of LGBTIQA+ family violence service responses, noting that people from LGBTIQA+ communities can feel invisible in the family violence service system. It is acknowledged that Aboriginal LGBITQA+ people are also dealing with overlapping forms of discrimination and power imbalances, including racism and homophobia and/or transphobia. This can increase barriers to access appropriate services and can compound the impact of family violence.
 
The RCFV made a recommendation for the Victorian Government funded family violence service providers to achieve Rainbow Tick accreditation. The Rainbow Tick is a national accreditation program that supports organisations to understand and implement LGBITQA+ inclusive service delivery against six standards.

The Project Officer will assist Mallee Family Care in undertaking the Rainbow Tick accreditation process and work with the organisation as a whole; Board of Directors, Executive Team, Leadership Team and staff members to ensure the Rainbow Tick Accreditation requirements are applied across the organisation and its services.
 
The six Rainbow Tick Standards that Organisations must meet are:
  • Organisational capability;
  • Workforce development;
  • Client participation;
  • Welcoming and accessible organisation;
  • Disclosure and documentation;
  • Culturally safe and acceptable services
 This position will support the preparations for and achievement of Rainbow Tick accreditation for Mallee Family by reviewing existing policy, procedures and practices.  This role will also develop policy, organise training and participate in appropriate forums and meetings as well as coordinate the Rainbow Tick and RAP Working Groups.
 
Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
Mallee Family Care is committed to Reconciliation – Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians working together to overcome the division and inequality between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians.  The Reconciliation Action Plan will provide a framework for the Organisation to support the National Reconciliation movement.
 
The Project Officer will be required to develop, implement and monitor the RAP, a strategic document that supports Mallee Family Care’s strategic plan, in collaboration with the RAP working group and the Executive team.  The RAP assists to support the Organisation by helping to develop respectful relationships and create meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The RAP includes practical actions that will drive Mallee Family Care’s contribution to reconciliation both internally and within the communities of interest.
 
Governance and Compliance Project Management
This position will sit within the remit of Governance and Compliance and will include the duties of project managing Governance and Compliance projects and initiatives. 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A relevant Tertiary degree or relevant Diploma qualification and equivalent experience.
  • A current driver’s licence and a willingness to travel and preparedness to be accommodated overnight when required.
