Position Description: Senior Child and Family Worker
The key outcomes to be achieved by the Child and Family Senior Worker are:

To deliver a range of Family Services programs and initiatives within the Victorian, policy and practice context; as outlined in Victorian reform agendas including the“Roadmap for Reform, strong families, safe children” and “Ending Family Violence”; and the children, Youth and Families Act 2005.

To encourage children, families and carers to enhance their social networks and connectedness with their community and culture.

To provide quality client services and liaise with staff at all levels whilst maintaining professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
Qualifications and Experience:

You will be required to hold an accredited qualification relevant to the position at Degree Level or above.

Diploma level qualification in a relevant field may be considered, on the proviso that the applicant will commit to undertake further Tertiary studies with the support of the Organisation.

Have a passion and commitment for supporting children and families across the child and family support/child protection continuum and ideally have transferrable practice experience in the sector or similar fields.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field.

An employee at this level will be required to participate in some operational management activities as part of the Family Services Leadership team.

Experience in dealing with children who have experienced trauma and interrupted attachment would be an advantage.

A current driver’s licence and a willingness to travel and preparedness to be accommodated overnight when required.
