About Us

Mallee Family Care is a leading human service provider of the Mallee region covering north-west Victoria and far-west New South Wales

Our Focus
We believe that achieving human potential lies at the heart of social justice and each of us deserves the opportunity to reach our full potential.

Our Aim
We act to reduce barriers, expand and support choice and potential for all members of our community, with special regard for those who, for whatever reason, find themselves in exceptional need, disadvantage or vulnerable circumstances.

Diversity and Inclusion
We promote connected and inclusive communities by embedding diversity and equity practices at the centre of everything we do. All people are welcome and supported to access our service, regardless of race, religion, gender or sexuality.

Rainbow Tick accreditation
As part of our commitment to being a diverse and inclusive organisation, Mallee Family Care is working towards achieving Rainbow Tick accreditation.

This work is being led by a Working Group that reflects the diverse communities we support.

Child Safe Statement
Mallee Family Care is a child safe organisation that welcomes all children, young people and their families across north-west Victoria and far-west New South Wales.

We are committed to providing environments that are safe and feel safe, where their participation is valued, their views respected, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Our child safe policies, strategies and practices are inclusive of the needs of all children.

We have no tolerance for child abuse and take proactive steps to identify and manage any risks and safety concerns. When child safety concerns are raised or identified, we treat these seriously and respond promptly and thoroughly.

We are committed to ensuring the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, as well as those with disabilities, from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, queer/questioning, intersex and asexual (LGBTQIA+) and experiencing risk or vulnerability.

Inappropriate or harmful behaviour targeting children based on these or other characteristics, such as racism or homophobia, have no place within our organisation, and any instances identified will be addressed with appropriate consequences.

Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility and we encourage all people to raise concerns should they suspect the safety of a child is at risk. Every person involved in our organisation has an important role in promoting child safety and wellbeing and promptly raising any issues or concerns.

Working together, we can build a thriving community where all children feel safe, strong and connected.

Our work is based on the following values

Access based on need, not circumstance.

We will act fairly and ethically.   We will do what we think is right.

The highest level of confidentiality and privacy is expected at all levels of the organisation. We will act honestly and with integrity.

We will consult and engage broadly, both internally and externally, and our communications will be “appropriate” to imparting and receiving relevant information - appropriate to the situation.

The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, partners and clients is a priority.

We will act responsibly, we will comply with our obligations and we will pursue our objectives with passion.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the first people. They have never ceded sovereignty, and remain strong in their enduring connection to land, water and culture.

We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
